Mount Pleasant Volleyball Camp
By: Sky Garcia
Here at Mount Pleasant Middle School, Coach Sanders and the high school volleyball team came and talked to us about volleyball, and they played a bit for us, and I thought it was really cool! It inspired me so much! After they were done, Coach Sanders handed out pink flyers with information about volleyball camp. I attended the first day of volleyball camp last night. They gave us pink shirts with “MP” and a volleyball player spiking the ball.
We played toilet tag for a warm-up, and then we got split up first, 4th and 5th graders tried spiking and passing, then 8th grade tried blocking, approaching, and snapping, and 7th tried setting. Then, after that 7th graders traveled to the blocking station and the approaching station and snap station. 8th grade went to passing, 4th and 5th graders went to serving, and 6th grade moved to setting. So and so forth. It was really interesting and fun. I can't wait to go again tonight!

Lindsey Vonn
By: Evelyn Greene
On February 9th 2026, the Journalism class watched CNN10 in class. There was a story about a USA Olympian named Lindsey Vonn who is 41 years old and came back to the Olympics despite her many injuries. She was skiing in the Downhill Skiing contest at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy and she crashed down the slope as she took a turn. Vonn had to be airlifted off the slope by a helicopter and be taken to the hospital. She said she had no regrets about going back to the Olympics even though she had many injuries. Vonn had already gotten injured practicing a few days before the contest but she continued to compete. Lindsey Vonn is now healed. Her story is a reminder to persevere and do things even if you get hurt. Another thing is at least you would have done it and not have regretted saying you're injured and not doing it.
