How to Balance School and Sports
By: Evelyn Greene
My advice to balance school and sports is to pay attention in class. My other advice is to use your time wisely. I have heard of some athletes who sit the bench because they have bad grades. These athletes claim it is because they don’t have time with their sports. If you use your free time wisely and do your work when you get chances you will probably maintain good grades. Which means you will get to play your sport. I highly recommend using all the chances you get to do your work. One of my last things on balancing school and sports is to talk with your friends and maybe study with them because they can help you understand it better, helping you get through your work faster. My very last thing is that you are a student athlete, academic comes first. So, if you can’t balance them, I’m sorry but quit your sport.
How to Maintain Good Grades
By: Annabelle Amos
I think for some people it can be difficult to have good grades so here are 3 tips for how I keep my grades up. Tip #1 Study. I feel like some people think they don’t need to study because you learn in class but studying is so helpful. There can be so many distractions in class and at home you can also use your own methods if you learn it differently in class. Tip #2. Keep up with work. For example if you get an assignment on Monday but you don't finish in class, try to do it at home on Monday night. If you keep the same assignment from Monday until the next week it can become stressful and you might forget it and get a zero. Tip #3. Check your grades often. I used to not check my grades often but it can be so helpful if you have a zero or a missing assignment so you can turn it in before the due date. I know it can be hard to keep your grades up especially if you do after school activities but I hope these tips will help you.
How To Life to the Fullest
By Korbin Thomas
“Vive vitam ad plenitudinem”, which is Latin for “live life to the fullest”.
I say this because my Dad is always telling me this because he didn't have the life I have. He wants the best for me and to enjoy life as much as I can with the time that I have. That is why you have nothing to lose other than memories that are important and matter a lot to you once you're older. My Dad says that you need to try and enjoy life as much as you can even if it's hard, you can do it. He also suggests that there's also no point in getting mad at mistakes because all that is happening when you make a mistake is you're learning from it, which is why making mistakes isn't a bad thing, it's a good thing. I wouldn't know anything if I never made mistakes, which is why you need to make mistakes, not on purpose but on accident so you can learn from your mistakes.
