A Girl’s Pencil
By Olivia Taylor
A girl picks up a pencil
So she can speak her heart
Without forcing her voice
To make a piece of art.
She paints her story
And writes her dreams,
It’s not for glory,
Though sometimes-
That's all it seems.
She never fails to find the good in all,
Finding beauty in everything is not a game,
So when her friendship threatened to fall,
She believed she was the one to blame.
She picked up her pencil,
And wrote out some quotes,
She is her life's stencil,
Simply writing down notes.
Wishing Stars
By Olivia Taylor
Two kids,
A Virgo and a Cancer,
Lay in the grass on a dark night,
Wishing on stars and wanting answers,
Before the sky reaches twilight.
Two constellations ,
Meant for each other,
Will eternally remain,
Like earth and water,
Having free rein.
Two zodiacs,
Wishing on their stars,
Will bring back–
Love that was once ours.
