This unit will focus on literary nonfiction as genre of writing. Much like the fiction unit, we will focus our study on the different types of nonction literature and the different literary elements that authors use to create their work. We will be studying these literary techniques in context through focusing our studies on an essay and/or series of essays starting with "The Night the Bed Fell." This unit will also concentrate on the different advertising techniques to develop skills and understanding of the persuasive domain. This sectoin will culminate with a class project where students will create and present information over their own filmed advertisement. This project will focus on and develop several key areas of Ohio's new Core Curriculum.
