The Odyssey, the attributed to the poet Homer, is part two of his ancient Greek epic poems. For all intents and purposes, The Odyssey is the sequel to the Iliad, his other work. While the Iliad focuses on the invasion and ultimate destruction of Troy over sexual jealousy, The Odyssey focuses on the Greek hero Odysseus and his long journey home after the fall of Troy. Odysseus is gone over 20 years. The Trojan War was 10 years and it took Odysseus another 10 years to return home after incurring the wrath of Poseidon. While MIA, most consider Odysseus dead, so a group on suitors invade Odysseus's palace on Ithaca and attempt to force his wife to marry one of them. Essentially, Odysseus is in a race to return home and reclaim what is rightfully his before he loses it all forever.
