What was the change in temperature? Explain your answer.
Example answer:
(1st sentence: restate the question and answer it. 2nd and 3rd sentences: Tell the steps you used in your work.)
The temperature change was a loss of 8 degrees Celsius, or -8C. I calculated this by beginning at the starting temperature of 3 degrees Celsius and then moving along the number line to the final temperature of -5 degrees Celsius. This movement covered 8 degrees and ended below zero, which makes the answer negative. I also could have calculated (-5) - 3 to get my temperature change of -8 degrees Celsius.
