Abstract Art

There are an infinite number of ways to make art. Even just one person can make art a gazillion-billion different ways.
ZEN or PROCESS ART:
Artwork is called "Abstract" when the artwork doesn't represent something that we recognize, like a garden, or a bowl of fruit, or your Uncle Joe. We admire the artistic skill required to make something look real, but that is a small part of the art world.
"Zen" art or "Process Art" are abstract works of art that are created by allowing ourselves to paint or draw without worrying about what it's "supposed to look like". The only rule is that it remains abstract. Start by choosing a color, what color are you feeling right now? Put some of that on your paper. What color will you choose next? Try not to judge your choices.
The idea of Zen Art is to give yourself a break from thinking. Stop thinking! The art teacher says so, LOL! Build up your work of art by adding layers of color, shape, texture, & patterns. It can look especially cool if you save black for last & use it to outline the shapes you painted or add more patterns. Zen art can be made out of anything, even just a crayon & a scrap of paper.
No one needs to see your artwork. It belongs to you. Artists make a lot of artwork that nobody ever sees. Create ZEN : )
