Greetings from Ms. Domina--or, as I generally sign the daily messages I write to the class, YLT (Your Loving Teacher).
To the left is a photo of my husband, Randy, and me on our sailboat. While he is the real sailor of the family, I enjoy doing anything outdoors, including hiking, birding, reading, eating ice cream, and teaching!
I began my teaching adventure by teaching outdoor education at Nature's Classroom, and then switched to teaching in public schools more than 20 years ago. In that time I've taught 3rd through 6th grade--my favorite age range.
I'm passionate about education and creating meangingful learning experiences that help children grow into kind, curious, lifelong learners and problem solvers. While my Masters and post-Masters training have focused on literacy, I love learning ways to help children grow in all academic areas.
I see myself as a partner to families, so I encourage families to be in touch with me with questions as well as suggestions for how I can better support and challenge their children. I want this--and every year--to be a wonderful year for my students!
