Major concepts in math include:
Developing an understanding of the concepts of multiplication and division (3rd grade) and solidifying that understanding (4th grade)
Using models to multiply and divide numbers to 100 (3rd grade) and with multi-digit numbers (4th grade) (**Note that students do NOT need to be able to use traditional algorithms until 5th grade)
Understanding the concept of fractions and equivalent fractions (3rd grade) and being able to perform basic addition, subtraction, and multiplication with fractions (4th grade)
Describing, analyzing, comparing, and classifying two- and three-dimensional shapes
