The Academic Technology department has a YouTube Playlist of short tutorials that can help you learn how to use Sakai quickly:
Sakai Video Tutorials for Students (5)
To log into Sakai:
Go to AUDirect, open the Services pane and click the dark green Sakai icon.
Click your “Sites” menu in the upper right corner.
Select your course from the list.
If your course is not in the list, please contact your faculty member or program coordinator to make sure you are officially enrolled in the course.
Your instructor will post your syllabus in Sakai. Look for the syllabus tool in the site menu (left sidebar on a computer, or under the menu icon in the upper right on a mobile device).
Instructions for your weekly activities, readings and lecture notes may be sent to you from the Announcements tool. If so they will also be archived in the announcements tool on the left sidebar in Sakai so you can go look at them any time.
Some faculty may also use Lessons pages on the site menu in Sakai. You will either see a book icon or an arrow which indicates there are subpages within that lesson. They may not be labeled with the word “Lesson.” They might say “Week 1” or “Module 4” or even “Getting Started.” There may be one page for each week or perhaps you will see pages added from week to week.
If you cannot find what your instructor told you to look for, email the instructor and let them know. It might be hidden and waiting to be released to students. Check with other students in your class to see if they can show you where to find it.
Use Sakai’s Assignments tool to submit your assignments to your instructor. You will find it on the site menu. Your instructor can post the instructions and allow you to submit your assignment as an attachment or as inline text. If you see a text box, simply copy your assignment from your Word document or Google Doc and paste it into the Inline Text Box. Video: How to Submit an Assignment in Sakai (4:20min)
The Forums tool allows you to participate in threaded discussions in Sakai. Your instructor may use Forum Discussions instead of, or in addition to, Zoom meetings for class discussions. If so, you will see the Forums tool in the left sidebar in your course. Video: How to Post to a Forum in Sakai (3:06min)
In an online class, it is very important that you communicate with your instructor if you run into any challenges. You don’t have the advantage of passing them in the hallway and asking a question, so use email when questions arise. You may even be helping other students in your course by letting your professor know that you can’t find the materials, that you need clarification or that you don’t know when something is due. Communicate sooner rather than later to avoid problems.
If you have problems with your login or get an error message, please fill out a Helpdesk Ticket in AUDirect.
Make sure to include the type of device you are using (phone, tablet, computer), which operating system you are using (Mac, Windows, iOS, Android) as well as the Course Name, Number, Section and Instructor in your ticket so we can help as quickly as possible. If you can take a screenshot or video of the problem, it can be VERY helpful and get your question answered more quickly!

Most operating systems have dictation capability under Accessibility features:
Apple devices have iOS Dictation
Windows Devices often have a Speech-to-Text that can be turned on in the control Panel (Windows 10, Windows 8 and 7)
Read&Write for Window has a dictation feature called Talk and Type -- download R&W for free
In the Chrome Web Browser:
Google Voice Typing -- can also be used for transcription in the Chrome Web Browser
Dictation for Gmail allows you to compose Gmail email using speech and
Speechify for Chrome allows your computer to read your email aloud.
In Firefox
but I haven't found a Speech-to-text extension. If you know of one, email at@antioch.edu. Until then use the ones for iOS and Windows.
Another option is using Zoom to auto-transcribe.
