4th Credit Option

As of Fall 2023, you may have already noticed that now you can only register up front for three credits for most classes.  In many cases you are still able to add an additional ("4th") credit, but it will happen in a different way. 

You will need to directly ask the instructor if you can add an additional credit, then you will need to fill out this embedded form, which will ask you to upload documentation of their permission (for example, an email from the instructor that agrees).

You will have until the regular add/drop deadline to get this form in (the 3rd Monday of the term). The registrar behind the scenes will then process the form to swap out your original 3 credit registration for the new 4 credit one.  The final step is to negotiate what additional learning and documentation you will undertake for the additional credit, which is handled directly with the instructor.  Note that at no place in the process do you need to obtain advisor or chair approval!
