Master’s Level Clinical Internship with the
Child Advocacy Program (CAP)
located at Dawson Place Child Advocacy Center in Everett
About our team:
*The CAP team is comprised of approximately ten therapists dedicated to supporting children who have disclosed abuse and helping them to find healing and justice
*Our team values team meetings and consults, social connection and laughter, and emphasizes self-care and personal growth of the therapists and interns on the team.
*Half of our therapists work at Dawson Place; we also have CAP therapists who work at Compass Health sites in Lynnwood and Smokey Point
Client population and services provided:
*Children, adolescents and young adults, ages 0-22, who have experienced physical or sexual abuse and their non-offending family members
*We provide individual, family and group therapy to anyone who qualifies, at no cost to clients
*We are currently providing hybrid services to clients, with some clients being seen in-person and some clients being seen via telehealth.
Information about the internship:
*Our interns generally work at our Dawson Place site. There may be a possibility for an intern to work at our Smokey Point or Lynnwood location, if interested.
*Our interns get the opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary environment with prosecutors, detectives, CPS social workers, medical staff, victim advocates and forensic interviewers
*Supervision- All interns receive one hour of weekly individual supervision
*We generally accept 3-4 interns a year, starting any quarter
*Our program interviews applicants year-round, but encourages applicants to apply early
Requirements:
*Interest in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
*Willingness to commit to 16-20 hours a week for 12 months
*Willingness to work out of the office at least one day a week; we are unable to accept interns who are looking for a 100% remote internship
Preferred Skills:
*Bilingual and/or bicultural applicants are encouraged to apply (especially applicants fluent in Spanish)
