A Supervised Visit is an opportunity for a parent and child to have time together that is safe and fun. Visits are generally 1 - 3 hours. A Supervisor or Monitor is present to provide for safety, observation, and a meaningful experience to promote positive memories between a parent and their child(ren). These visits may be in an office, for closer monitoring and parent-child coaching and guidance, or in community/outdoor space with less engagement from the Supervisor. Families needing relationship repair or reunification will meet with a therapist to work on their relationship as well as have some play time together. The goal will be to promote progress so they can enjoy time with less intervention over time.
A Supervised Exchange is arranged for separated or divorced parents who struggle to manage the transfer of the children for their respective parenting time. One parent will drop the children off 15 minutes early, and leave. The other parent then picks up the children for his or her parenting time. This reduced conflict between the parents that the children might otherwise be exposed to; or can be used to help ease the transition for children who struggle to see their parents in the same space. A Supervisor for the exchange might assist with transferring items from one parent to another to avoid having the child be a messenger or in possession of medication or other items that must be secured.
