Common Ground Conflict Resolution Services is an affiliate of Anna Tyrrell & Associates. Anna Tyrrell, the principal owner, is a licensed mental health counselor (LPC) and licensed social worker (LSW). She has spent her career promoting healthy relationships, resilience, and growth from stress and trauma.
She recognizes the value of life sustaining family relationships and is committed to helping people manage the complexities of these relationships and develop the skills to foster secure nurturing engagement and create lasting positive memories.
Understanding that most people experience some form of adversity in childhood and that parenting does not come with a manual, raising families is ripe with challenges and conflict. For this reason, she has created Common Ground Conflict Resolution Services and Common Ground's Supervised Visitation Center. Her approach to helping families through difficult challenges fosters life skills and lifestyle changes to promote the best parts of themselves to create the person they want to be in the world and importantly how they want to engage in family. For parents and children with significant separations, the goal is to help repair and reunify their relationship; or to prepare children and their parents for a relationship once the child comes of age and may seek out the separated parent or absent family members.
Of course, we won't make presumptions about you! Each and everyone is unique in their circumstance and approach to their situation. We know that everyone has good moments and bad. Some go through tough times. We also know that those tough moments don't have to define you. We also know that everyone evolves. We hope to help with your process to make the best of a difficult situation and maximize the time you have with your child(ren) and help repair or grow your relationship with your child(ren) if there has been a disruption. Here are some examples of parents who may need supervised visitation:
Cases of alleged child abuse, neglect, or dependency
Pending court involvement where supervision provides a safeguard until a disposition
To provide ongoing contact while a parent is seeking long-term treatment
Parents reunifying with their children after an absence of time together due to long-distance move; deployment; incarceration; Long-term treatment or other debilitating condition
As a safety measure in cases of domestic abuse or high conflict divorce
To provide witness or documentation regarding the parent-child relationship
To provide parent coaching/guidance through supervised time with their child(ren)
To provide safe exchanges in cases of domestic abuse, high conflict divorce, or substance abuse
To provide an opportunity for relationship repair when the relationship is volatile and not safe for the child or the parent.
To assist when family members are unavailable to monitor parenting time
