Art was never a thing I was super into. I never felt creative, or believed I had much artistic talent and never once had the urge to create anything. One summer though I took a trip to an island in Maine- where I stayed in an old cabin. I was not used to the living conditions and life without wifi. For me, there was not much to do. There wasn't much to explore, the water was too cold to swim, in short there wasn't much to do. But then I had a realization, if only I was into making art, this would be heaven and I could sit down with a paper and pencil and draw. So, from then on I decided to start creating art. I called this "hobbying-" and for the rest of the summer I drew different things, used different mediums and made many different forms of art. But as summer passed, the realization dawned on me that when school began I wouldn't have the time to continue creating. Thankfully I learned that there was a class , Visual Arts Portfolio, specifically dedicated to making art all year. I decided to change my whole schedule so that I could add this course and am grateful I did, because I have learned quite a bit and my love for art has grown tremendously.
