Gmail has advanced features that can be added from the 'Advanced Settings'. We will add 'Templates' formerly Canned Responses and then set up a template canned response so you know how to use it.
Scenario: Each year you go on a three day field trip with students. Parents repeatedly email you asking similar questions and you are writing the same response from scratch. To become more efficient, you are going to create a 'template' in Gmail with all the information about the field trip that you can 'auto reply' when questions start coming. Each year, you just update the with the current information and use again.
Go to Advanced (via settings) in Gmail
Locate Templates, Enable and SAVE
Create a Message
Subject Line: ‘Field Trip Information’
Add Content such as: Directions, What to Bring, What to Wear
Save it as a Template titled ‘Field Trip Information'
Close it & then compose a new message to anyone and add your template.
