Dear Fraters and Sorors,
My time as Regional Monitor has come to an end. In reflecting on the years during which I was given the honor and good fortune to serve, certain things stand out. They are the satisfaction of being able to contribute to the coherent and peaceable functioning of the Order's activities here and to lend whatever help could be given for the advancement of any Frater or Soror who had a question or needed a little light shed upon some matter.
It was not because of an opinion of myself that I know more than others, or are somehow more illumined, but it is because it is evident that we are in a world right now that needs more sharing and caring among ourselves. The Rosicrucian Order responded to me when I came seeking, it is genuinely fulfilling to act in kind. Social pressures these days seem to be driving people apart from one another and any opportunity that can be found to help mitigate this issue is highly rewarding.
We all have something in common and that is our Soul. We are here now, because there are particular circumstances of this existence that are needed by us as we travel along on this great Cosmic Journey and the crafting of that Soul is what will take us into a future where spiritual qualities will outweigh the material. We can’t go off to the forest for years to work on ourselves. Our spiritual practice needs to occur IN this world—with our families and friends, at our work—and in relation to all the world’s problems. There is no more important conversation—or commitment to action—in the world today.
Being Regional Monitor is truly an illuminating experience and to the members of the Order I have had the opportunity to serve I can say this:
By allowing me to serve, you have also allowed me to receive, for in serving I found growth. By working hard to provide as much inspiration as possible for others, I myself was inspired. By reaching my hand out to help others, I found that their hand was helping me also.
So it is with a sense of profound reverence that I say thank you for allowing this opportunity to serve. It is indeed a life changing experience.
And to all of you, who may have some questions within yourselves as to how to further your growth along this mystical path we are on, the road lies in Service. Giving of yourself returns to you many fold. It is in Service you will find the keys to unconditional Love.
Fraters and Sorors, words cannot do justice to the thankfulness felt for those of you who contributed to the work of the Order in this Region, from service as officers or committee members, to thoughtful discussions at forums or convocations.
I am excited to welcome Terry Orlikoski as our new incoming Regional Monitor and eagerly await her Light. May loving wisdom guide us all.
From Within the Bonds of the Order and from the Bottom of My Heart,
I’m wishing you all Peace Profound
Bob
