For our Unit 2 project for SAVVAS, students worked in partnerships to write a letter to a zookeeper, explaining why the animal they selected should be in the zoo. Students conducted research by using PebbleGo for digital text, informational texts from our classroom library, and National Geographic videos. The students wrote a rough draft, then edited to make their final drafts. To finish the project, students used ChatterPix to read their letter aloud.
This project was great! The students did an amazing job conducting the research. They worked collaboratively with their partner to write notes on interesting facts about their animal. Then they completed a rough draft of their letter. I gave each partnership feedback prior to them writing their final draft and them completing their ChatterPix video.
