Breanna Carden

I am looking forward to another year of collaborating with you as part of Amherst's Instructional Coaching Team.  I began my career in 2014 teaching second grade in Elyria City Schools before coming to Amherst in 2017 to teach third grade. After four years in third grade, I transitioned to a coaching role in 2021.  

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master's Degree in K-12 Reading from Bowling Green State University. By November 2023, I will have completed my Structured Literacy certification through the Orton Gillingham Academy. 

My favorite part of being a literacy coach is supporting teachers to best serve our students in all areas of literacy and learning. I am passionate about providing all students equitable learning experiences that are rooted in evidence based practices and align to the science of reading.
