Writing for this week: Brainstorm: writing video -Things I know 3 minute video- Using scratch paper, draw a big circle in the middle labeled "Things I know". Brainstorm 4 things you know a lot about. Pick one to write about tomorrow.
Optional Extension for the whole week: Go to the drop down page titled "Extensions". There are a lot of journal prompts for your child. This type of writing can be done the entire school year. Have your child choose a topic and write while you set a timer for 10 minutes. They should write on the same topic for the entire 10 minutes. Encourage them to fill an entire page and remind them to add as much detail as they can.
Optional Extension- Write the Room You don't need to print this. Just allow your child to see it, then they can make their own version. Send them on a hunt to find something in your house that begins with each letter of the alphabet. Then have them write the word to the corresponding letter. You can do this later in the week and make it extra hard by challenging them to find a word that ends with that letter! Let them know that it may not be possible to find every letter this way.
