Below are the steps that detail the process that we as counselors go through once we receive the completed referral form:

Step 1: Teacher will consult with parents prior to making the referral

Step 2: Parent or Teacher will complete the referral form

Step 3: School Counselor will contact parents/caregivers to explain services and obtain consent

Step 4: Counselor will conduct assessment to determine level of need and appropriate supports

Step 5: Counselor will continue to communicate progress to parent and teacher throughout the 6-8 counseling sessions

Step 6: Counselor will refer student out to other agencies for support as deemed appropriate
