All ED 272 Residents will be meeting VIRTUALLY for the remainder of the term.
Due to the overall improved conditions and shifting regulations in California, Alder GSE will largely offer any planned in-person sessions in an in-person format.
Attendance and full engagement is required at every course session. Our academic program schedule and learning experiences have been carefully curated to support rigorous, fast-paced and successful resident/student development and timely program completion. One absence or lack of regular course engagement may result in missing essential learning and can make it difficult to keep pace. If you have an unavoidable conflict, emergency, or need for accommodations related to attendance or course engagement, please email your course instructor(s), (for residents) your program director, and student services as soon as possible.
See the full attendance policy here.
Ray Pun (rpun@aldergse.edu) will continue to provide writing support for reading, writing, and course assignments, especially related to ED 290 Action Research. The RWGL Module will also be available for you to review resources discussed in the summer about academic writing and reading.
Virtual office hours can be made directly here.
If you are a student with a disability who requires accommodations for your disability or would like to learn more about reasonable accommodations as it pertains to accommodations due to a temporary medical condition or injury, please contact the Director of Student Services for information on how to request accommodations. For more information see the Disability and Accommodation Procedures.
If you have any questions or issues around technology access for summer course instruction, please contact student services. Information about email and Canvas is as follows:
Email Accounts have been created and assigned to students. Students are responsible for regularly reading and responding to email sent to their Alder accounts but may elect to auto-forward their Alder email to a personal or partner address. Please contact your Student Services Advisor for support. Course-related communication will go to your Alder email addresses, so please check your inbox regularly.
Canvas Accounts will be created and assigned to students by early June. Canvas is our Learning Management System (LMS) and will be used to house materials and organize information and assignments for summer courses. Please contact Perla Ramirez for support with Canvas.
Throughout the term please expect to receive surveys that will provide valuable insight into your time at Alder. For more information, please visit the surveys page.
