Alcona students have the opportunity to participate in a number of CTE programs. This page provides a full list of Alcona programs, partner programs, and more information. 


Taking up to 10 college classes while in High School is available to all Alcona students through Alpena Community College. Students must meet pre-requisites for some classes. Testing may be required for enrollment in some classes. For a full list of programs, see the ACC programs list. This page has typical Alcona on-site class offerings, help numbers, and other information helpful to any student taking a college class. 

Early College students make a commitment to a 5th year of high school. Alcona students are able to earn a high school diploma and up to 60 transferable college credits within a five-year high school plan. This page provides information specific to the Alcona Early College Program. Information that involves all students taking college classes can be found on the Dual Enrollment page. 

Online courses are offered for many reasons: more flexibility, credit recovery, or taking electives not offered in a face to face format to name few. Here you will find some help resources and more information.

There are three diploma levels offered to serve the needs of Alcona students. This page details those diploma levels and graduation requirements.

Alcona Community Schools has an alternative school within our school available for eligible students. 

Thinking about playing sports in college? Don't wait until senior year to plan! You need to meet certain eligibility requirements to play NCAA or NAIA. This page will give you some tools to investigate what you need to do to be eligible to play in college. 

The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs has a study abroad program for High School students between the ages of 15 and 18.5. This is through the U.S. Department of State and scholarships are available. The time away can be as little as a few weeks to a full academic year.
