In April 2021, UAF Faculty Senate endorsed a memo to Chancellor Dan White to improve the Academic Program Review process. This effort involves the PIT Process & Improvement Training) Crew and faculty governance via an ad hoc Faculty Senate committee, a committee which is inclusive of the Office of Assessment and Accreditation. A number of factors created this opportune time to enhance the program review process:
1) The Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) is requiring that UAF enhances its focus on equity within the process and for academic programs to use disaggregated student data in their reporting;
2) UAF now has a new accreditation cycle; and
3) Chancellor White has paused the cycle for one year to provide time to collaborate given that all UAF programs have been reviewed over the past two years via Expedited Academic Program Review.
Through this collaborative effort, we aim to improve the Academic Program Review process for Spring 2022, which prepares UAF to begin the next review cycle in Fall 2022.
