AISJ is an English-medium school, with English as the main language of instruction. We are, however, a multilingual community with a complex language profile, and we encourage students to maintain their home language or the language of their past schooling experience.

The SSST program aims to provide an opportunity for students:

• To maintain a bilingual language pathway

• To study a language other than English to a level of their home language(s), or a past schooling language

• To develop literacy skills in a language spoken and/or supported at home

• To study this language as part of the academic curriculum

• To prepare, in G9 & 10 for the IBDP for School Supported Self-Taught  Literature Course

• To follow the IBDP Language A School Supported Self-Taught program and study literature in Grades 11 and 12

• To obtain a bilingual IB Diploma
