DO NOT CALL THE EMBASSY! If you want to try your luck and call the embassy for you to get your visa faster, or to complain it is taking too long, please don't. You can talk to your Manager if you have questions about the visa, or any problems. If there is a need to contact the embassy we will do it through the proper channels.
Make sure you are going to the right place. When you apply for a visa, you are allocated to an embassy near the place you live. When you get your appointment make sure to go to the specified time and place.
For the bank statement required as one of the documents in the visa application, use an active account. You cannot use a savings account! It needs to be an account you can use immediately.
Do not have a criminal record, at all, the chances of your visa getting rejected are a lot higher. It depends on the severity of the crime, how long ago it was and how it relates to our countries laws. Talk to your manager first, but ideally DO NOT HAVE ANY CRIMINAL RECORD.
It goes without saying, but DO NOT LIE to any official embassies or authorities. Be honest, if you do not know something ask for clarification and be careful to have all your documents in order. Lying will not only get your visa rejected, but also make your future applications also likely to be rejected.
