Below you will find the amazing topics our Kindergarten students will learn in STEAM class!

SCIENTISTS

Students will explore what it means to be a scientist!  We will practice using our 5 senses and tools to observe the world around us.  Students will participate in experiments to understand how the sun warms our planet and that temperature can change if something is a solid or liquid.

LIVING THINGS

Students will explore what it means for something to be living or nonliving!  We will learn the needs of animals and plants.  Students will observe the living and nonliving things around us through a nature walk.  They will experience first-hand how animals change their environment through a beaver simulation.

TAKING CARE OF OUR EARTH

Students will explore what a natural resource is.  We will uncover what pollution is and how we can take care of our planet!  Students will create posters that illustrate how to "Save Our Earth".

ENGINEERING

Students will explore what it means to be an Engineer!  They will have the chance to do some building to solve problems!  They will learn how engineers think about function and structure of objects before building.

PUSHES AND PULLS

Students will explore the forces of pushes and pulls!  We will experiment with how the amount of force changes things and how friction slows objects down.

WEATHER

Students will work as weather watchers to record the weather each class.  We will explore how to be prepared for weather with the clothes we wear.  We'll look for patterns in the weather, including seasons!  We'll engineer something to protect us from the sun.
