This is a series that was developed by the CanadiEM.org team that focuses on quality improvement and patient safety. They are meant as an introductory series. The posts go in reverse chronological order, so the link takes you to Page 4, where you can see how the series evolved over time.
Shared Humanity was created to facilitate empathy and understanding between both healthcare providers and the young people they serve. These modules are designed to increase our awareness of this relationship, develop our skills to strengthen it, and co-create spaces of healing and connection within our challenging healthcare system.
The Model for Improvement,* developed by Associates in Process Improvement, is a simple yet powerful tool for accelerating improvement. The model is not meant to replace change models that organizations may already be using, but rather to accelerate improvement. This model has been used very successfully by hundreds of health care organizations in many countries to improve many different health care processes and outcomes.
This is a suite of resources to help physicians and medical learners develop skill in key habits of patient safety, and to recognize and mitigate risk for patients. They are mainly of two types: case-based modules with interactive elements (which take approximately 20-30 minutes each to complete) and “microlearning activities” which take a few minutes to click through. These resources are accredited through the CPD programs of both the RCPSC and CFPC.
