Welcome to Offa's Mead Primary Academy

Thanks for visiting our site.

We are extremely proud of the remarkable children here at OMA and work hard to ensure we provide them with the very best academic, social and emotional learning opportunities every single day.  A recent full Ofsted inspection, in October 2022,  judged us to be a 'Good' school.  The report can be found here.

We are a vibrant Primary Academy, proud to serve the Sedbury, Beachley and Chepstow communities. Our children are encouraged to participate fully in school life and to be responsible for contributing to an ethos where every member feels valued, respected and has a sense of purpose. The school recognises the importance of partnership and wants parents to play an active role in their child’s development throughout their primary years.

Our children start their academic journey in the school year in which they are five years old, when they join our Foundation Stage. As an AET academy, at OMA our mission is pure and simple: to enable our pupils to lead remarkable lives. This is the golden thread that binds us all together – the reason that despite our very different paths to OMA, we are all part of one family.

David Wayland, Principal.

The children at our academy are taught in 5 classes:

Dragons: Reception & Year 1 (Mrs Groves)

Unicorns: Year 1 & Year 2 (Mrs Hannington & Mrs Edwards)

Griffin: Year 3 & Year 4 (Mr Owen)

Phoenix: Year 4 & Year 5 (Mr Davies)

Pegasus: Year 6 (Mr Gilbert)

The majority of our Year 6 pupils will transfer to Wyedean Secondary School which we share very close links with.

We have experienced and enthusiastic teachers and an experienced SENDCO here at the academy and the children are also supported by teaching assistants, administration staff, caretaking staff, cleaning staff and lunchtime staff. All our staff go the extra mile to ensure the pupils are happy, confident and enthusiastic learners thriving in a climate where they feel safe and secure.
