Thank you for taking the time to review our Sixth Form pages and we hope you find all the information you need as you consider the next step in your educational journey.

We are confident that Greenwood Academy’s Sixth Form can be a launch pad for the rest of your life, and certainly for your next step into either full time training, employment or University.

Through careful one on one guidance, we are proud to report that in our most recent group of year 13 leavers (July 2017), all students who desired to go to University successfully applied and received offers to do so. We are proud to report that a number of our former students are now continuing their education in prestigious Russell Group institutions such as Queen Mary’s London, Manchester, Exeter and Leeds and this year 87% of our students secured their first choice University place! Those who didn’t choose University as their next destination are all now in either full time employment or apprenticeships. Greenwood Academy has experienced staff members who are always willing to offer guidance but importantly also offers impartial and professional advice via its dedicated careers service.

As a potential student, you can expect to work with teachers who care deeply about your future and progress over the two years you spend in the Sixth Form. Class sizes tend to be smaller than average, giving you more one on one time with teachers who are expert in their field. We also expect you as students to contribute positively to the school in return. The Sixth Form provides the base of our school House system leadership and as key role models within the Academy, our Sixth Formers are held to the highest of standards in uniform, behaviour, conduct and ambition.

Greenwood Academy welcomes applications from any aspirational student who wants to demonstrate and develop our school values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience.
