Curriculum

At Greenwood Academy we intend to deliver a curriculum which supports not only our pupils’ physical and mental health and wellbeing but also extends their social and moral development. Through the use of in school and virtual learning, working closely with families, we will ensure that they continue to achieve their personal and academic best and are well prepared to adapt in this ever-changing world.

At Key Stage 3 (Years 7, 8 and 9), students will study the following subjects:

  • English and Mathematics

  • Science (a combination of Biology, Chemistry and Physics)

  • History, Geography and Religious Education

  • Modern Foreign Languages

  • Art, Music, Drama and PE

  • ICT, Resistant materials, Votes for School and Healthy living

At Key Stage 4 (Years 10 – 11), students follow one of several flexible pathways which feature a wide range of academic courses including the English Baccalaureate.

All students will study the following subjects:

  • English

  • Mathematics

  • Science

  • Physical Education

  • Religious Education

The English Baccalaureate courses include:

  • Triple Science

  • Geography

  • History

  • Spanish

In addition, students can choose from a full range of academic courses:

  • Business

  • Engineering

  • Food and Nutrition

  • Child Development

  • Art, Music and Drama

  • Physical Education

  • Health & Social

  • Computer Science and IT
