Barton Hill Academy recognised for excellence in inclusive practice by IQM

Date: 15/8/23

Last month, Barton Hill Academy in Torquay received a well-deserved recognition for its commitment to inclusive education by the Inclusion Quality Mark (IQM). Each of the schools recognised by IQM has demonstrated excellence when it comes to inclusive practice, creating welcoming schools where diversity is cherished and celebrated.

This award serves as a testament to Barton Hill’s continuous efforts to create a learning environment where every child's unique needs are met. Inclusion goes beyond just accommodating students with diverse abilities and backgrounds; it means fostering an atmosphere where every individual is valued, respected, and given equal opportunities to learn and grow.

For those who want to get an inside look at the incredible work being done at Barton Hill Academy, you can view this video. It showcases the school's proactive approach to inclusive education and highlights the efforts they put into creating an environment where every child can flourish.

Joe McCann, CEO of IQM, extended his congratulations to each of the winners. He explained, “These eight schools exemplify everything IQM stands for. We are looking forward to working with each of you over the next 12 months to help share and promote inclusivity in schools all over the country.”
