FUN FACTS:

I was born in Bogota, Colombia and adopted and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I have lived in many different parts of Minnesota (Morris, Finland, St. Peter, Mankato, and of course Minneapolis). I came to Bolivia with my husband Franz, and our cat Abuelito (4yrs old).

I have worked with students in ages k-12 since 2009. I have helped coach middle school girls track, basketball, and soccer. I helped implement the WEB program at my last school and it was so much fun. Last year our students founded the first ever Black Students Union at Simley High School and I was the faculty advisor.

My first time on an airplane (that I remember) was when I was 16 and I have loved traveling ever since. I spent a week backpacking through the Grand Canyon, as well as exploring the South West United States. I spent a month studying and exploring the Hawaiian islands. I have been to Guatemala twice, Panama, El Salvador, Brazil, Colombia, and now Bolivia! In 2017 I went back to Colombia for the first time since I was adopted and spent a day volunteering at the orphanage I was adopted through.

I love playing games and having fun doing all sorts of things! My husband and I finished a 1500 piece puzzle in less than 24 hours!

I love working with kids and watching them experience things for the first time. This is why I especially love teaching science because science is messy, crazy, and it is EVERYWHERE!!!
