I was born and raised in one of the richest cities in the world in terms of history and culture, Istanbul. As a child,it was safe to roam in our neighborhood on our bikes. We had many green areas along with houses with gardens. My grandmother inspired me to love plants and animals, and I have tremendous curiosity for nature and its mysteries. Because I love nature and plants so much, I studied landscape architecture at Istanbul University. During those years, I also started taking acting classes and acted in government theatre and some TV serials.
After university, I started my master's degree in urban planning at Istanbul Technical University. I worked and lived internationally in Turkey and in the United States before relocating to Bolivia. I designed the house that I now live in with my family, including my two kids, Sebastian Alp and Pia Emel. I learn from them every day. I also learn from my students. ACS has become a home to me and to my kids as we learn and grow here as lifelong learners. I have been working at ACS since 2012. I worked as an instructional assistant in KG3 for three and a half years, 2nd grade for two years, and 3rd grade for two years. Since teaching is my passion and my kids appreciate and honor me as their favorite teacher, I decided to study education to be able to help students at a higher level. In 2019, I completed my Teacher Certification Program based in Washington. I will continue working as a third-grade teacher and will do my best to inspire our students by nurturing their curiosity, challenging them, and providing them with a student-centered learning environment.
