About Ms. Sapp & Family Consumer Science

Hello! Hello! Welcome to Family and Consumer Science (FACS) at AMS! My name is Ms. Sapp and this is my 2nd year at AMS and my 1st year teaching FACS. I graduated from Appalachian State University in 2011 with a History, Secondary Education degree. I spent a several years teaching Social Studies in McDowell County and last year here at AMS. I am originally from Southeast Georgia and a huge Bulldog Fan! Go Dawgs!



What is Family and Consumer Sciences? (FACS)

According to the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences, Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) is the comprehensive body of skills, research, and knowledge that helps people make informed decisions about their well-being, relationships, and resources to achieve optimal quality of life. The field represents many areas, including human development, personal and family finance, housing and interior design, food science, nutrition and wellness, textiles and apparel, and consumer issues.
