Journalism and Digital Design

Mr. McFall

Teacher Bio

Howdy AMS Cougars! My name is Carter McFall and I am happy to be joining AMS as the New Digital Art teacher. I am a certified Visual Arts educator from the great state of Michigan and I have been living and teaching in the Asheville area for 2 years and counting! I graduated from Northern Michigan University with a BFA and a Secondary Teaching Certification in 2018 and abruptly moved to WNC where I have been teaching in dozens of schools throughout Buncombe and Henderson counties. I am excited to focus on digital art and journalism as I become a part of this great community. I take pride in my students and the diverse paths they take to becoming constructive, responsible citizens. I believe that art education is essential and teaching creativity is my main focus!

In my free time I love to work in oil paints creating portraits, I also play a handful of instruments including the banjo, and riding my motorcycle! I love living in the mountains where we can camp, hike, climb, and bike all around us. I'm also a big nerd about movies, music, comic books and I cannot wait to hear about your favorites! I look forward to meeting everyone and getting to know you better as the year takes off! See you soon Cougars!
