The Basics of Designer Babies

Our goals in this project were to explore the process of designing your own baby, to determine whether it is morally justified to do so, and research other areas where this knowledge would be useful and ethical. Initially, we thought of doing even some kind of lab work with small cells per the instructions of our supervisor. Given the circumstances, however, we were not able to do so. This is why we shifted our attention to what we can do from home to the best of our abilities. We decided to make some kind of model through the interactive game we have submitted alongside this written segment. In the process we explored the process of how designer babies are made and tried to briefly explain it in the videos.

What we have done so far is to find information about the process of gene modification and designing babies. We researched and found a variety of opinions about the concept of designer babies and whether it is morally justifiable. We explored fascinating information about our topic and managed to enjoy the process of doing so, despite the unusual circumstances. Now that we have this foundation, we can continue expanding the scientific aspect of our project.
