ACOE's Core Learning Department, in collaboration with the National P-3 Center, proudly hosted our P-3 Alignment Network Kick-Off on Saturday, March 11th, at CSU East Bay. 12 of our 15 partner districts (81 participants total) joined us as we began our 3-year mission of aligning instructional and district strategies in support of preschool through third grade students across our county.
During the Kick-Off, participants were shown powerful data that demonstrated positive and inspirational outcomes of strong P-3 alignment efforts. A commitment toward family engagement, play-based instruction, professional development, and finding opportunities for early childhood and early elementary educators and leaders to collaborate key to some of the positive outcomes of the day. District teams had the opportunity to reflect on the data as it applies to their current efforts. Following the Kick-Off, many teams communicated a sense of “urgency” in the work, were excited to start the work, and felt validated in their current efforts. View highlights in the video above! A huge thank you to Program Managers My Nguyen-Soy, Rita Pope, Sara Green, Director I Maria Vlahiotis, Administrative Assistant Adriene Metoyer-Leonard, Executive Director Dawn O’Connor, and the National P-3 Center for making the event a resounding success!
