The Alameda County Office of Education's Core Learning Department has developed a three-dimensional design for our Early Education Teacher Development Grant (EETD), in an effort to increase qualified LEA-based CSPP teachers and TK teachers, to increase the competencies of the preschool through third grade workforce, and to develop and support preschool through third grade systemic and classroom best practices for students' success.
The P-3 Alignment Network was formed in order to better support our students from preschool through third grade with an articulated literacy approach. District teams consisting of district directors, site administrators, California State Preschool Program directors, literacy coaches, and teacher representatives from preschool through third grade will meet six times a year (three times as a Network and three times internally) to connect and collaborate on systems- and classroom-wide best practices to support our youngest learners.
We have partnered with four local institutes of higher education (CSU East Bay, Chabot College, Las Positas College, and Merritt College) to support our teacher workforce earn credits, permits, and credentials. Our partners offer flexible options for our workforce. View the Course and PD Offerings page for more information.
We are committed to growing the competencies of our preschool through third grade educators in the following areas:
providing instruction in inclusive classrooms
providing culturally-responsive instruction
providing support for dual language or multilingual learners
providing enhanced social-emotional learning
implementing trauma or healing-Informed and restorative practices
mitigating implicit biases to eliminate exclusionary discipline
