Welcome to Alameda County Office of Education's Early Education Teacher Development (EETD) Grant Consortium Page. Our Consortium is comprised of 15 local educational agencies (LEAs) and 4 Institutes of higher education (IHEs). Read on to learn more about our grant goals, our teams, and the three ways we will use our funding to make a difference to the early learning workforce in our partner LEAs.
The Early Education Teacher Development Grant is funded in combination with the California Universal Prekindergarten Planning and Implementation Grant.
The purpose of the EETD Grant is to:
plan for the increased number of teachers needed to fully implement Universal PreKindergarten
improve competencies of CSPP, TK, and K teachers
increase district capacity to successfully implement a PreK-3 Program
Our consortium was awarded $3,160,578.00. We have been funded for the following school years:
2022-2023
2023-2024
2024-2025
2025-2026
The EETD grant supports California's Universal PreKindergarten Initiative to expand access to pre-kindergarten services for young children. As LEAs and early learning and care centers are expanding programs, there is a need to ensure there is a robust workforce that is ready to serve our youngest learners. The EETD grant's purpose is to build capacity and strengthening the teacher workforce by building teacher competencies to serve young children, helping educators obtain the necessary child development permits and/or credentials, and increasing the number of teachers who are eligible to work in CA State Preschool Program (CSPP) and Transitional Kindergarten (TK) classrooms.
The EETD grant allows LEAs to fund tuition reimbursements and professional development training for educators. In addition, the EETD grant will also fund efforts between ACOE and LEAs to implement best practices and strengthen the alignment in Pre-K through 3rd grade instruction.
