The Hartford Public School Choice application for the 2023-2024 school year is now open and we’re excited for you to join us! Follow this link to apply!
To apply today, simply click here and follow the instructions to fill out the application. The HPS Choice Application is open from January 9 until March 31. Be sure to submit an application before the close date to be eligible for 2022-23 enrollment. For more information about the Hartford District Choice Application click here.
Once you fill out an application, you will be entered into the Hartford Public Schools (HPS) lottery for a seat at Achievement First. The HPS Lottery will run sometime this Spring and is run by Hartford Public Schools. We will maintain regular contact to keep you updated on the application process!

2. Fill out each section of the application (and be sure to include all information about your current AF scholars!)
3. Submit the application
As a reminder, current AF scholars do not need to reapply to AF and enter the lottery again.

All admissions to Achievement First (AF) schools are completed through a blind lottery, with preference given to siblings. AF is committed to serving all students—including students with disabilities and Multi-Language Learners (MLLs) by providing the individual support they need to grow and succeed.
Please note: The lottery resets every year, therefore all waitlisted statuses for the 2022-2023 school year will be cleared. If your child was on the waitlist last year, please fill out a new application for the 2023-2024 school year in order to participate in the 2023-2024 Hartford Public Schools Choice Lottery.
We know there have been many challenges this year, and we are focused on ensuring all kids we have the honor of serving know that they are safe, loved and learning in our schools. We invite you to fill out an application as early as possible in order to take full advantage of upcoming virtual family events and opportunities that offer a true window into the AF team and family.

Step One: Apply for the lottery

Step Two: The Lottery
OFFERED A SEAT OR WAITLISTED?
The operations team will contact families via phone calls and email as seats become available in the grade you have applied for. You will then be invited to attend a mandatory orientation. If you'd like to know the status of your application, go to achievementfirst.schoolmint.net or contact the main office at 860-695-6760.
Step Three: Attend a mandatory orientation
Orientations are only offered between April and June each year and are mandatory for all families who have been offered a seat to Achievement First Hartford Summit Middle School. The orientation allows families to learn more about our school and receive information about the required paperwork to fully enroll their scholars. Orientation dates will be posted on schoolmint.
Step Four: Submit Mandatory Documents
You will be required to turn in all paperwork to fully enroll your scholar into our school. Paperwork must be uploaded to SchoolMint within one week of attending an orientation. All health exams are due to the school no later than June 1st.
