Sports Logistics:
All practices are after school from 3:30-4:30 PM
Materials/Sports Uniform: athletic shoes, shorts, t-shirt, and water bottle.
Students are expected to attend all practices and games. Specific days of practice for each sport will be noted to the right.
Students must be picked up from the South Gym (HS Parking Lot Side) on time.
All practices are closed, which means that nobody else is on campus unless they are currently registered for an activity. This includes other students, parents, and community members.
We do not offer after-school bus transportation. It is your responsibility to ensure your scholar has a ride to and from all games and practices.
Game/Practice cancellations will be sent out via ParentSquare. Please make sure your contact information is updated with the main office and that you pay attention to all ParentSquare texts, calls, posts, etc.
Welcome to the AF Hartford Middle Schools' Athletics page. Here you can find information pertaining to our athletic program regarding registration, sports offered, and sports program information. Please contact Athletic Director Angel Torres at angeltorres@achievementfirst.org or 860-500-8685 with any questions. Scholars in 6th - 8th grade are eligible to play sports. Per HPS.
SPORTS REGISTRATION PROCESS
All parents/guardians who wish to register their HSMS student (grades 6, 7, and 8 ONLY) to try out for a sport must complete the registration process below. All student-athletes are required to be registered and approved both academically and medically (with the updated physical that covers the length of the season.) Physicals are valid for 13 months.
Registration for all sports and activities must be completed on ParentSquare.
Sports Registration Process:
Complete the registration form. Interest forms are used to determine if we will have enough scholars to form a team for specific sports.
Once each season's sports programs are determined, permission slips will be sent out.
Turn in or ensure your scholar has an up-to-date health examination form on file with the Nurses office. A medical form that expires during or before the season start date will NOT be accepted. Click here to access the health examination form.
