End of Year Activities
Dear 8th Grade Students & Families,
Congratulations to Achievement First Summit Middle School’s Class of 2023! You have studied, worked hard, and you are now nearing your middle school graduation. We anticipate that the year will be very special and the graduation will be a memorable day! We are so proud of you!
In order to continue our preparations, we will be collecting funds for the 8th grade dues. 8th grade dues are $35 and should be turned in by Friday, May 26, 2023. Dues will cover expenses to make your scholar’s last year of middle school memorable. The list below reflects the final list of what 8th grade dues will help cover and at the end of this page you will see what you total balance is:
8th Grade dues include the following items:
● Cap, Gown, & Tassel
● Printing of graduation programs and tickets
● 2 Graduation Tickets
● 1 8th Grade Semi Formal Dance Ticket
● 8th Grade End of Year Activities (see list below)
8th Grade dues will also cover the following activities:
8th Grade Graduation Ceremony
8th Grade Field Trip
8th Grade Semi Formal Dance
8th Grade Picnic
8th Grade Ice Cream Social
It is imperative that scholars return their 8th grade dues money by Friday, May 26, 2023.This will ensure that we are able to run all scheduled activities and events. AF Hartford Summit can only accept cash as a payment method at this time. To make a payment, please include your payment in the attached sealed envelope with your scholar's full name and have your scholar turn it in to Ms. Valdez, our Office Coordinator and 8G Events Co-Planner. No refunds will be given even if your scholar is no longer eligible to attend the end of year events.

HSMS Field Trip Eligibility Requirements!
From April 24 to June 2
90% Attendance
Present for ALL SBAC days (5/2, 5/3, 5/16, 5/17)
No more than 3 removals
No more than 3 walkouts
No ISS/OSS or Bus Suspensions
No FARS
*It is the school's discretion on whether your scholar can participate*
Parent Chaperones: No, parents can not attend the field trips below. We have enough staff to ensure a safe student to staff ratio. We only invite families if a student is in need of additional supports, however, this is very rare.
How to: Fill out Permission Slips on ParentSquare
If you received the text message reminder with the link:
If you click the link from the reminder text message and it opens the ParentSquare phone app, at the top of the page it will say "Forms". Click on “Forms” and fill out the form directly in the app.
If you click the link and it opens the website browser, scroll down to the bottom of the page and fill out the form on the web browser.
If you have the ParentSquare app:
Open the ParentSquare app and click on the three dots in the bottom right corner, scroll down to "Forms/Permission Slips" and look for the one that says "2021-2022 AF HSMS Field Trip Permission Slips". Fill out the form.
If you go to the ParentSquare website browser:
Sign in using the email address / phone number on file. Click forgot password if you don’t have your login.
Click on the three dots that say “More” then click on “Forms/Permissions” and scroll down until you find the required forms and click “Complete Form” then scroll down until you see the Electronic Signature Consent Page.
Step 1: Go to Parentsquare.com
Step 2: Click MORE on the bottom right corner
Step 3: Click “Forms/Permission Slip”
Step 4: Click “Complete Form” once you get to the “2021-2022 AF HSMS Field Trip Permission Slips”
Step 5: Fill out all required info
More Details:
8th Grade Field Trip
Where: High Meadow
When: Wednesday, June 14th
Time: 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Scholars are required to wear a purple shirt and appropriate pants or shorts.
8th Grade Semi Formal Dance
Where: South Gym (drop off and pick up is in the Library/ HS parking lot)
When: Friday, June 16th
Time: 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Attire: Scholars can wear what they want as long as it is appropriate. Most scholars choose to dress up ☺
Food and drinks will be provided.
No parents or chaperones allowed. Hartford Summit staff will chaperone.
Pick up is at 8:00 PM - If your scholar is going home with another family, contact Ms. Sessoms and/or the advisory teacher. If you do not communicate, we expect that you will pick up your scholar. You must pick your scholar up ON TIME!
The dance is an optional activity, no RSVP is required
Graduation
Where: HSMS Auditorium
When: Thursday, June 15th from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Tickets to graduation are required because of space limitations no more than 2 family members for each scholar.
Tickets will be given to scholars the week of 6/12/23
All scholars should arrive at HSMS by 3:45 PM.
Only scholars will be permitted inside the building between 3:45 PM - 4:15 PM to prepare for the ceremony.
At 4:15 PM, families will be allowed to enter for seating.
Please send your scholars in their cap and gown.
Scholars must be in school for the full day on June 15th. It is mandatory for all scholars to be at graduation rehearsal.
