Family Visitor with The Maine Families Home Visiting Program
Maine Families is a primary prevention, home visiting program. Through trusting relationships, family visitors partner with families who have children under the age of five to support emotional & physical well-being, healthy & strong parent-child attachments, creative learning environments of children, reduced incidence of child abuse & neglect, connection to community resources, positive & effective parenting, self sufficiency within families, parents reaching educational goals, and reduced family isolation.
The Family Visitor will visit with children under the age of five and their families
The Family Visitor will provide services to families living in Central &/or Southern Aroostook County
This is a Full Time position with a competitive fringe benefit package including health insurance options, STD, LTD, life insurance, in addition to vacation, sick, and holiday paid time off.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in social work, education, human services, liberal studies, or related field.
Paid experience working with families and children under six years of age.
Valid Maine drivers license.
Insured vehicle available for business use.
Willingness to travel.
Good oral and written communication skills, knowledge of child development & community resources, positive attitude, and ability to work with diverse families is essential.
