FAMILY MASCOT

Decide as a family what mascot best represents your family. It could be an animal - real or imagined -, an insect or an object. Draw your mascot using "Draw about it" on the BrainPop lesson, or your favorite drawing app.

Screenshot it and submit it to your teacher!

ENRICHMENT

Supplies: paper and markers

Family Crest

Many royal families have a crest or a coat-of-arms that represents their whole family and their rich history. Together THINK ABOUT family members and DISCUSS major events that have happened that affected the lives of family members.

Then have your child make a family crest or coat-of-arms that represents the entire family. Be sure to review classic symbols. You may wish to review symbols from other countries that may be relevant to your family, such as flags. Have your child share the crest or coat-of-arms with the entire family and talk about its significance.

Draw your FAMILY CREST (or a new version if you already have one!) on paper with markers and submit a photo to your teacher!

Some Classic Symbols are in the document below. Click below to view the whole document.
