Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Alliance Charter Academy Music Department to provide high-quality individualized music education and experience to the school community.

We enact this Mission by:

• Teaching toward an appreciation for and proficiency in musical performance and literacy, believing that music is a universal human experience benefitting the whole human family.

• Cultivating a sense of identity in and self-expression through music.

• Providing opportunities for students to engage in music-making as a joyful activity that enhances their lives.

• Creating opportunities for bonding amongst our students, community, and the school at large.

Music learning at ACA provides:

• Focused, in-depth musical instruction that is engaging and inspiring.

• Diverse music-making opportunities.

• Guidance for personal and group growth including:

-Clear directives for rehearsal and assignments

-Instruction that is accessible and diverse in method and medium

-Assessments that are fair and on-point

-Incorporation of technology into music-making opportunities

• The benefits of music include: enhanced intelligence, presentation skills, collaboration, empathy, and personal discipline in devoting oneself to a skill.
