Piano for K-2
A fun class designed for younger learners. Learn beginning piano skills through practice, games, drawing, and listening activities.
It's all about early learning styles, so younger students can take this class multiple years as we rotate through 3 different sets of materials.
Parents are required to attend class with their students.
There are weekly activity and practice assignments.
Students need a piano or keyboard at home to practice.
Parents will need to help them practice regularly throughout the week at home.
60-75 minutes of home practice per week
Grades 3-5 & 6-12
Let’s play piano!
Whatever your piano ability, we’ll learn (or continue to learn) note reading, rhythms, musicality, listening skills, music theory and history.
Independent work with teacher guidance allows every ability level to learn and grow, while coming together as a group for skill building activities.
Class begins with individual learning and work time, with opportunities for one on one support and assessment. (Parents of younger students are welcome to sit with them to assist where needed.)
Then class shifts to group instruction as we practice rhythms, theory, learn about music genres and history as well as try various creative exercises.
Weekly assignments and practice “homework.”
Students are expected to participate in a December Concert and Spring Recital.
Home piano or keyboard is needed.
Parents should encourage and supervise regular practice at home.
100-120 minutes of home practice per week
