Google applications, many of which are accessible via Glow, are divided into “Core Services”, which are part of Google’s education offering, and “Additional Services”, which are defined as consumer products. A recent change by Google to how Additional Services work means that action is now required for staff who want to continue to be able to access these services (examples of which are listed below).
Frequently used Core Services include Google Classroom, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides and Sites.
Frequently used Additional Services include Google Maps, Earth, Chrome Web Store, CS First and YouTube.
Staff can easily request access to Additional Services by completing this form: https://forms.gle/PiBkDi4ojjpXSnbAA
It is recommended that you log in to Glow before you click on this link.
Please note that the link to the Google Form should not be shared with pupils as parental consent is required for all users under 18. Pupils will, however, continue to be able to access Core Services such as Google Classroom and Google Drive.
Staff can withdraw their consent at any time by emailing the Digital Learning Team at: digitalhub@argyll-bute.gov.uk
If you have any questions, or would like any support accessing the Google Form, please contact the Digital Learning Team
