Assistive technology is a broad term that relates to products, equipment, systems and programs that enhance learning, working and daily living for people.
Some people rely heavily on assistive technology, for example a person who requires a physical hearing aid, voice control or alternative inputs to operate equipment others take for granted.

But it isn't just Apple who have embraced assistive technology, and there is an ever-growing suite of features built right into the operating systems we all rely on day to day. Sometimes these features are call assistive technology or they could be called accessibility features or ease of access.
The Digital Learning Team has produced and collated resources here to assist our educators to identify the tools available that support all of our young people to achieve their potential, and whilst assistive technology is essential for some it may be considered to be useful for all.
Chromebooks include accessibility features straight out of the box. This allows students, with a diverse range of needs, abilities and learning styles, to access the same educational experience.
