The children designed their own characters to represent attributes of a successful learner:
Ready, Resilient, Resourceful, and Reflective.
As they created their characters, they thought carefully about the behaviours, attitudes, and actions that show these qualities in everyday learning.
To make the learning meaningful and relevant, staff and children worked together to discuss what each attribute looks like in practice to create the statements for each poster. This collaborative process gave children a voice in defining the characteristics of successful learners and helped them develop a deeper understanding of how these qualities can support them both in school and beyond.
Through this work, the children learned that successful learners are:
Ready to learn, participate, and try new experiences.
Resilient when facing challenges and able to persevere through difficulties.
Resourceful in finding solutions, using available tools, and thinking creatively.
Reflective about their learning, recognising successes, and identifying next steps for improvement.
